Warning about Implants and Crowns! Despite Signature and Stamp
From the very beginning, an image was built up for me that consisted only of lies. As a patient, you think you are in safe hands and surely they will not deceive you—especially not bring you all the way from Germany to Turkey for nothing. In reality, you are systematically lulled in here, fed with promises, and in the end brutally cornered.
I was guaranteed 3D technology (CAD/CAM, intraoral scan, no rubber impressions), as well as Straumann BLX implants, even with signature and stamp. In addition, a clear payment plan: 50% at the start, 50% upon completion—exactly as it had already been with my implants. But suddenly the manager changed his mind, forced me into full payment, and indirectly admitted himself that he was using Chinese crowns instead of German materials.
For my implants, I had already paid around €3,500 by card, in two payments, the second one directly after completion of the treatment. I am still waiting for confirmation of the Straumann serial number. I have serious doubts that they are originals.
With the crowns, the real nightmare began: After I had paid about €1,800, my teeth were ground down and, although we had clearly agreed not to do rubber impressions, I was forced into exactly that. At first they said it was “just for temporary teeth.” Then came a second impression after the grinding for the lower jaw, which the translator Sinan himself confirmed to me at a restaurant: “If they take rubber after grinding, that is fraud.” With that, he inadvertently exposed the lie himself.
The next day brought further payments until I had paid almost €1,800 in total. Later, I was pressured by phone to pay the full amount immediately, otherwise they would not continue. At that point it became clear that I was trapped in a modern fraud process. I even gave the translator €50 as a tip to indirectly tell him: please be honest with me. But he was the very first lie, and until the very end he claimed we had never agreed on a 50/50 payment!
I immediately terminated the treatment and demanded my money back. Of course, the translator coldly replied: “No, either you continue or you can forget it.” After that I immediately involved the police and the embassy. I spent a total of six hours there, with a translator, preparing my report and all documents for court proceedings. For that alone I have so far spent €2,550. At this point, it is no longer just about money, but about health, truth, and human dignity. And it is about my promise to be a good example for many patients, so that they are no longer deceived.
Three independent specialists later confirmed to me that my teeth were ground down very poorly, medically faulty. All evidence is available. I will recover my money, including the implants, through my credit card.
If you are planning dental treatment in Turkey, here is an honest piece of advice: Although dental treatments in Europe can be quite expensive, they often guarantee higher quality and stricter safety standards. If you nevertheless decide to have treatment in Turkey, you should be extremely cautious when choosing the clinic.
Many dental clinics that specifically target foreign patients focus primarily on reducing operating costs and maximizing profits. For this, general dentists, inexperienced practitioners, or even trainees are often used instead of qualified specialists. Furthermore, such clinics frequently resort to cheap Chinese zirconium, inferior root filling materials, and other substandard productswhich can massively jeopardize the long-term success of your treatment.
My golden tip:
Do not go to a “dental tourism clinic,” but instead look for a certified specialist precisely for the area you need. There, you will receive treatment at local prices and of significantly higher quality. Here is how to search:
- For root canal treatments: look for an Endodontist (in Turkish: Endodontist or Endodonti Uzmanı)
- For dental implants: look for a Dental Surgeon (Ağız, Diş ve Çene Cerrahı)
- For crowns, veneers, or other prosthetic work: look for a Prosthodontist (Protetik Diş Tedavisi Uzmanı)
If you turn to a true specialist instead of a commercial clinic, you secure professional expertise and safe treatment.
I will also publish my entire story on social media. What I went through must never happen to another patient again.
